It’s our goal at Planned Parenthood to provide you with the low-cost, high-quality health care you need. Our services are available to everybody, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. When you visit one of our medical centers, you’ll get the services you need from someone who understands and will take you seriously.

How much do medical services cost?
Fees are based on a sliding scale determined by the patient’s monthly income and number of dependents.

We accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, and in-state personal checks.

Do I need insurance?
Patients do not need medical insurance to receive high-quality, low-cost health care at Planned Parenthood. For those patients who do have insurance, we accept:

• Medi-Cal

• Private insurance

What medical services do you offer?

Birth control methods
We offer a variety of birth control methods, including:

•Birth control pills

•Birth control patch

•Condoms

•Depo-Provera Shot

•Diaphragm

•Fertility Awareness (Natural Family Planning)

•Intrauterine Device (IUD)

•Leah's Sheild

•NuvaRing®

•Today Sponge

•Vasectomy

Emergency contraception (EC)
EC prevents pregnancy if taken within 120 hours of unprotected sex. These two pills use a specific combination of hormones, much like birth control pills, to prevent a pregnancy from occurring. EC is 75-92% effective if taken correctly. If a pregnancy has already occurred, EC will not harm the pregnancy.

Pregnancy testing
This test requires a urine sample and can be taken 10 days after having unprotected sex, or two weeks after you have missed your period.

Pregnancy options education
If you are pregnant, you will receive unbiased information about your choices. These include adoption, abortion, and the decision to keep your child.

Abortion services
Medical abortions (aka the abortion pill) are provided if the female is less than 56 days pregnant as determined by an ultrasound. Surgical abortions are provided up to 19.5 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period.

Adoption referrals
We provide referrals to approved adoption agencies in both Orange and San Bernardino counties for women who decide adoption is right for them.

Prenatal care
Education, vitamins, and regular check-ups are available to pregnant women. Nurse Practitioners, specializing in OB/GYN care, watch over pregnant women each month under supervision by a medical doctor. Referrals are made to hospitals for childbirth.

Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI)
Confidential testing, diagnosis, and treatment are provided for patients who think they have or may be at risk for a sexually transmitted infections. For more information about STI, click here.

Confidential HIV/AIDS testing
Testing for HIV is done through a blood test. Results are available after 2 weeks and the patient has to return to the medical center to receive his/her results. All tests and results are confidential.

Sterilization
Sterilization education is available for men and women. Vasectomy services are provided in our centers for men. Tubal ligation referrals are available for women.

Cancer screenings
Pap smears (for cervical cancer), breast exams, and testicular exams are available. Referrals for low-cost mammography are provided when necessary.

Male services
Family planning and contraceptive education, contraceptive supplies, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, cancer screenings, and vasectomies are available for men. For more information about male services, click here.
